Dr. Hussam has been offering lap. gastric sleeve surgery in Dubai for years and will be best to advise whether this is the most suitable option for you.
How it works
The doctor will make several small incisions in your abdomen and perform your surgery using a special keyhole, or laparoscopic instruments.
During the weight-loss procedure, up to three-quarters of the stomach is surgically removed along the greater curvature- with the new stomach taking the shape of a narrow tube, or sleeve.
Risks and Complications
Gastric sleeve, overall, is considered safe when compared to other commonly performed surgeries, but as is the case in all surgeries, a gastrectomy has its risk profile and possible complications. The main complication associated with sleeve gastrectomy surgery is occasional leakage or breakdown of the gastric contents from the staple line that secures the divided stomach. Any possible complication will be discussed with you prior to surgery.
